24 May 2026 – Arrival in Windhoek → Kalahari Desert (Bagatelle)
Drive: ±280 km | 3.5–4 hours
Your journey begins with your arrival in Windhoek, where you collect your vehicle and set off south toward the red dunes of the Kalahari. The drive to Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch is an easy and rewarding introduction to Namibia — wide open roads, vast skies, and a growing sense of space.
Bagatelle is a beautiful first stop, set among rolling red dunes and golden grasslands. It offers a soft landing into Africa, combining comfort with a genuine connection to nature. In the afternoon, you can settle in and perhaps enjoy a gentle nature drive (Optional) or simply take in your surroundings as the light turns the dunes a deep burnt orange.

25 May 2026 – Kalahari Desert (Bagatelle)
Your full day at Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch is designed to ease you gently into the rhythm of Namibia. The atmosphere here is wonderfully calm — rolling red dunes, open grasslands, and the quiet feeling of being completely removed from the outside world. Unlike the dramatic scale of the Namib later in your journey, the Kalahari feels softer and more intimate, making it the perfect place to slow down after your travels and simply absorb your surroundings. Early mornings are especially beautiful, with golden light spilling across the dunes and wildlife moving quietly through the grasslands around the lodge.
We highly recommend beginning the day with the rhino encounter (Optional), one of Bagatelle’s most memorable experiences. Approaching these enormous animals on foot, guided by experienced trackers, creates a rare and deeply personal wildlife moment that stays with people long after they leave Africa.
The afternoon can then be tailored to your interests, with options including nature drives, horseback safaris, walking activities, or simply relaxing back at the lodge and enjoying the peaceful setting. However, if there is one experience we particularly love, it is heading over to the main camp toward sunset where a small group of meerkats return each evening to their burrow. 26 May 2026 – Into the NamibRand (Wolwedans Dune Camp)
Today you travel deeper into Namibia, leaving the Kalahari behind as the landscapes slowly transform into the vast open wilderness of the Wolwedans Dune Camp. The drive itself is part of the experience — wide valleys, distant mountain ranges, and the growing sense of remoteness that makes this region so special.
Arriving at Dune Camp feels like stepping into another world. Elevated along the dunes with sweeping desert views in every direction, the camp captures the spirit of classic safari while remaining deeply connected to its environment. 27 May 2026 – Exploring the NamibRand & Visit to Boulders Camp
Today is dedicated to experiencing the incredible diversity and scale of the NamibRand Nature Reserve alongside your guide. Scenic drives through the reserve reveal rolling dunes, open plains, granite outcrops, and the surprising amount of life that exists within this seemingly harsh environment.
During the day, you will also make your way to Wolwedans Boulders Camp, tucked seamlessly amongst massive granite boulders in one of the reserve’s most secluded valleys. Visiting Boulders gives you a completely different perspective of Wolwedans — more intimate, hidden, and incredibly atmospheric. Enjoy time here soaking in the surroundings before continuing your exploration of the reserve.
The beauty of Wolwedans lies not only in the landscapes themselves, but in how connected you feel to them. Nothing feels rushed here, and the day unfolds naturally according to the light, wildlife, and mood of the desert.
Hidden tip: Keep your binoculars nearby throughout the drive — oryx, springbok, and even smaller desert-adapted wildlife are often spotted quietly moving through the valleys.
28 May 2026 – Wolwedans Dune Camp
Another full day in the NamibRand allows you to experience the reserve at a slower and more immersive pace. Activities remain flexible and can include scenic drives, short walks, or simply time to relax back at camp and absorb the extraordinary sense of space and silence.
As the day progresses, the desert changes character constantly with the movement of light across the dunes and mountains. It is this atmosphere — more than any single activity — that makes Wolwedans such a special place.
In the evening, the reserve becomes one of the finest stargazing destinations in Africa, with virtually no light pollution and skies that seem endless.

29 May 2026 – Namib Desert to the Coast
Today you leave the desert behind and travel north toward the Atlantic coast, passing through ever-changing landscapes before reaching Swakopmund.
You’ll stay at The Strand Hotel Swakopmund, perfectly positioned between the ocean and the town. After several days in remote wilderness, this is a refreshing contrast — comfortable, vibrant, and full of character.

30 May 2026 – Swakopmund to Damaraland
Leaving the Atlantic coastline behind, you journey inland toward the rugged and dramatic landscapes of Damaraland — one of Namibia’s most remote and visually striking regions. The scenery changes constantly throughout the drive, from open gravel plains to rocky valleys and ancient mountains, giving you a real sense of the scale and isolation that defines this part of the country.
Your destination is Malansrus Tented Camp, a beautifully understated tented camp set within a private concession in one of Namibia’s last truly wild regions. What makes Malansrus so special is its authenticity — it doesn’t try to overpower the landscape, but rather blends quietly into it. 31 May 2026 – Damaraland (Desert Elephant Tracking Experience)
Today is dedicated to exploring the remarkable wilderness surrounding Malansrus Tented Camp, with a focus on tracking the region’s famous desert-adapted elephants. This experience is one of the true highlights of staying at Malansrus and offers a very different style of safari to Etosha or the private reserves later in your journey.
These elephants have uniquely adapted to survive in one of the harshest environments in Africa, travelling great distances through dry river systems and rugged terrain in search of food and water. Accompanied by experienced local guides, you follow tracks through sandy riverbeds and remote valleys, creating a safari experience that feels raw, authentic, and wonderfully unfiltered.
What makes this so special is that nothing feels staged or guaranteed — every sighting is earned through patience, knowledge, and time spent in the landscape itself. 01 June 2026 – Damaraland to Etosha Heights
You travel east toward Etosha, where the landscape begins to change once again, becoming more productive and rich in wildlife.
You arrive at Etosha Heights Mountain Lodge, a lodge that combines dramatic views with a strong safari experience. Set within a private reserve, it offers a more exclusive alternative to the national park. Get here in time for the afternoon game drive and sundowner, usually leaving around 16:00 and back around 19:00.

02 June 2026 – Etosha Heights
Your first full day at Mountain Lodge begins with an early morning game drive, when temperatures are cooler and wildlife is most active. This private reserve allows for a more flexible safari experience than the national park, with the ability to follow animals off-road where appropriate — ideal for more intimate sightings.
After returning for a late breakfast, the middle of the day is yours to relax. The lodge overlooks a waterhole, and it’s worth spending time here — wildlife often comes to you.
In the afternoon, you head out again as the light softens. Elephant herds, giraffe, and predators are all possible, and the elevated landscape makes for beautiful, open viewing.

03 June 2026 – Etosha Heights
Today builds on your safari experience with a deeper focus on the reserve’s wildlife. One of the highlights here is the presence of black rhino, a rare and protected species in Namibia. Tracking them with your guide adds a meaningful layer to the experience, it’s not just about seeing them, but understanding their story.
Game drives remain flexible, allowing your guide to adapt based on sightings and your interests. Whether that’s predators, larger herds, or simply enjoying the landscape.
By now, the rhythm of safari life feels natural. Early starts, relaxed afternoons, and long golden evenings.

June 4 – Etosha Heights → Okonjima Nature Reserve
Drive: ±300 km | 4–5 hours
After breakfast, you begin your journey south to Okonjima Lodge. The drive is straightforward and a comfortable transition after your time in the bush.
You arrive in time to settle in and enjoy lunch before heading out on an afternoon activity (Optional). Okonjima is home to the AfriCat Foundation and is known for its conservation work, particularly with big cats.
Your first drive (Optional) introduces the reserve and its wildlife, setting the tone for what’s to come.
Hidden tip: Use the drive down as a relaxed day — Namibia’s distances are part of the experience, not something to rush.
June 5 – Okonjima (Leopard Tracking)
This morning is dedicated to one of Namibia’s most special experiences, leopard tracking (Optional). With expert guides and ongoing research in the area, this is one of the best places in the country to encounter these elusive animals.
The experience is both exciting and informative, offering insight into the behaviour and conservation of one of Africa’s most iconic predators.
The afternoon remains flexible, with a final game drive (Optional) or time to relax at the lodge.
Hidden tip: Even after you find a leopard, take your time — watching their behaviour is what makes the experience unforgettable.
June 6 – Return to Windhoek & Departure
Drive: ±220 km | 3 hours
After a relaxed breakfast at Okonjima Lodge, you begin your final drive back to Windhoek. The journey is easy and gives you time to reflect on everything you’ve experienced, from the silence of the desert to the energy of the wildlife and the contrast of Namibia’s ever-changing landscapes.
You’ll arrive in time to return your vehicle and connect with your onward flight back to Stockholm.
And as you leave, one thing tends to become very clear, this may be your first journey to Africa, but it will almost certainly not be your last.
