Capture the unique moments between mother polar bears and their newly emerged youngsters in early spring. Explore one of the largest Polar Bear denning sites few get to experience. Open only to a select few individuals every year.
To say the experience is moving would be an understatement.
This is a lodge based experience where you are able to travel around in comfortable tracked heated vans which offer unprecedented access to the denning sites and viewing this special interaction.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Winnipeg
After arrival in Winnipeg settle in for the night at your hotel ready to catch the early morning flight to Churchill.
Day 2: Winnipeg – Churchill
Catch an early morning flight to Churchill and enjoy a town tour before heading for lunch at the local restaurant. Then board an evening train to Chesnaye where you will be met by your expedition leader who will transfer you to The Newborn Polar Bear Lodge.
Day 3 – 8: Observing the Polar bear mothers and Cubs
Spend these days observing the interaction between these mother bears and their young cubs. Some will be exploring their new worlds for the first time. The tracked vans offer good access to the denning areas and will mean observation and disturbance of these animals is kept to a minimum.
Being heated they offer a comfortable place to shelter while observing the bears.
Day 9: Lodge – Churchill – Winnipeg
Catch the morning train back to Churchill and catch your flight back to Winnipeg to over night.
Day 10: Onward Journey
Flight home or onward journey.
